1. Before 1995 you can still find clothing made in the USA. By buying vintage clothes made in the USA you can make sure you are not supporting sweat shop labor.
2. Buying vintage is greener than buying new clothes, because new materials are not used.
3.Everything comes back in style. You can find vintage clothes that are classic and were the original inspiration of expensive designer clothes at affordable prices.
4. Vintage clothes are often more affordable than new designer clothes.
5.Vintage clothes are collectable and are likely to become more valuable over time.
6. You can easily create a unique look by wearing vintage clothes and accessories that are not mass produced anymore.
7. Always have something to talk about. Each vintage piece has a story about how you found it, how it was made or a story about the designer. For example the gown below was designed by Mollie Parnis a designer in New York that was well known for dressing first ladies. She designed gowns for Mamie Eisenhower, Lady Bird Johnson and Pat Nixon.
8. There is no shortage of classy style icons to look to for inspiration such as Lillian Russell, Dolores Del Rio, Kim Novak, Donyale Luna, James Francis Cagney and David Bowie to name a few.
